In this way, it is really revealed to us what we are certainly transforming into.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is really complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be literally fit into neat categories.

With that being truly said it is actually helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you’re at right now. The following stages are simply general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is undoubtedly a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are simply searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is really a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You launch to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you establish seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

There must be literally a point to all this? In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are definitely in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will initiate dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may likely have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is usually a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

With the spiritual awakening process, there is always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.

Stage 6– Deeper personal work

In this stage, you are literally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You might possibly become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inward work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is literally never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is literally ultimately a gift from Life. Profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are generally felt in this stage. You might possibly feel ready to be simply a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will launch seeing things from the big picture. Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is certainly common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is actually not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is usually a complex and messy path, so it is literally perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is really an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are literally here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is often very mundane.

Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is literally a good time to get out your ego peeler. Creating running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are and what life really is simply. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is truly the beauty of the ego peeler. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were definitely already within us.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is truly often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is without a doubt not to be usually confused with the heart, which is generally located to the left of the heart chakra.

Instructions on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be simply felt will keep them from being stored in the body.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are without a doubt more sensitive to every thing around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was usually due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Tips on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is simply causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is normally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Insight on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be generally patient. Whatever you do, do not be undoubtedly afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams may well be simply mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are without a doubt not “dreaming” … that what is truly happening is really somehow real.

Hints: You will remember what is normally important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Death, divorce, change in job status, loss of home, illness, and/or other catastrophes … often several at once! Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are really and what your life means to you. Forces that you can not ignore. Forces that cause you release your attachments. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is simply a feeling that something is definitely about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Directions: There is truly nothing to worry about. Things are actually definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are normally prayers. There is usually nothing to fear.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are undoubtedly around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Instructions: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are truly ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is certainly adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Knowledge: Ground yourself by eating protein. Often “comfort food” feels. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are actually healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Tips and advice:. Keep in mind that it is certainly best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be truly stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
