My spiritual awakening process.
I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was literally deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was certainly born into.
Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was really more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone. I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.
I looked around the internet for any sign that could help me navigate this confusing time. It really helped calm me down and point me in the right direction and where I needed to go.

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am simply very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is undoubtedly just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is usually an especially important to time to consciously choose what is usually already unfolding in your life.
In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are these:
Being truly able to clearly see what is undoubtedly real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are undoubtedly
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
This last part is literally key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is truly wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were truly acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is definitely now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own. The lights in the house are all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be normally a feeling that there is really no going back.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are truly present. They are without a doubt secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is definitely all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are usually trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be generally very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is generally healthy.
Simple Signs Of Spiritual Awakening
1. You feel as though your life is undoubtedly false
Every thing that you have believed, built, and worked towards seems to be usually false. Your life doesn’t feel as though it is normally your own. You no longer feel like yourself– nearly every thing you once enjoyed no longer brings you meaning or satisfaction.
2. You craving for meaning and purpose
You deeply desire to find the meaning of your life. You have no idea what your purpose is generally, but you want to find it desperately. There is really a sense that something is normally “missing” inside of you (like a part of your soul).
3. You begin asking deep questions
Questions such as “Why am usually I here?” “What is usually the purpose of life?” “What happens after we die?” “Why do people suffer?” arise. You begin thinking more philosophically. Such profound thoughts may greatly disturb you as you don’t know the answers.
4. You realize that a lot of what you’ve been definitely taught is truly a lie
You initiate to see how many beliefs, feelings, and values are generally not actually your own, but other people’s or inherited from your culture.
5. You feel completely lost and alone
Nothing in your life seems to make sense anymore. You feel as though you are literally wandering through an endless wilderness. As a vagabond, you feel completely alone and cut off from people. You struggle to relate to those you once felt close to (i.e. your friends, work colleagues, and family members).
6. You see through the illusions of society
Materialism, success, and profit no longer mean anything to you. You kick off feeling as though you are usually a cog in the machine of society.
7. You see how unhappy most people are really
You awaken to the unhappiness and suffering of others. You may well start to explore activism or read more about the human condition. It is tormenting for you to realize how much pain there is without a doubt in the world.
8. You want to ‘purge’ your life
You are actually sick and tired of feeling stranded, depressed, and hopeless. Suddenly, you feel the need to simplify and declutter your life. This could mean cutting ties with toxic people, reassessing your habits, throwing out old things, relocating to a new job or place to live, or even giving away most of what you own.
9. You begin experiencing deep empathy and compassion
As you start paying more attention to the many hardships faced by humanity and nature alike, you develop more compassion. Your inherent empathy is awakened and you might just find it hard to cope with the intensity of your feelings. This is actually a pivotal point in your internal transformation: you either numb the pain you feel with addictions, or you find healthy ways to accept and express your emotions.
10. You see that we are undoubtedly all One
Not only do you intellectually understand that we are normally all interconnected, but you feel it deeply within your bones. You realize that our thoughts and beliefs influence reality, and that we are truly all fragments of one great Whole– that is undoubtedly, Spirit. Having fully experienced that we are without a doubt this Oneness, you find peace at last. Sometimes this stage can take years or even an entire lifetime.

Why Does Spritual Awakening happen
Have you ever thought of your spiritual awakening? People practices their spiritual disciplines to have his soul awakened so that he can achieve spiritual growth and maturity. But spiritual awakening is truly such a state of mind which occurs due to some unexpected incidents of life. A person who is without a doubt regularly having a fixed routine continues to move on, but if any such event takes place which he never expected, he can face an awakening of his spiritual mind.
If a spiritual awakening occurs, a person may perhaps start to live a life different from his previous experience. Let’s have a look at why does spiritual awakening happen?
1. Facing with a sudden incident of life can be generally a big cause of spiritual awakening Human mind always remains in a dynamic state. A person who used to lead a life full of luxury may have a sudden change in consciousness to accept a life full of wisdom and simplicity. The reason behind this might perhaps be normally some incident which he has seen near him, or has heard of somebody. Thus, he may perhaps have a shift in his conscious mind, and suddenly he launches to realize the deeper meaning of life. Therefore, he might probably get his spiritual soul awakened.
A dream is simply another reason for spiritual awakening. From that time a person may possibly have a spiritual awakening.
3. Spiritual awakening can happen if someone is simply fond of reading or traveling. Gaining a lot of knowledge from books or can awaken the spiritual self, and a person wants to follow the spiritual disciplines regularly.
4. It sounds odd, it is usually not impossible that a person might face some paranormal incidents in his life which might just be generally magical or ghostly. Such type of experience may result in the spiritual awakening of a person.
These might just suddenly result in spiritual awakening. The constant search for further questions can cause spiritual awakening inside that person.
Spiritual awakening does not mean that you are certainly out from the reality. It is literally such a state of mind where you start to search and seek for a path which gives you a new definition of life.
What Do I Do if I Did Awaken?
If you did have an awakening, you are simply in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is literally profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.
I want to be without a doubt clear that just having some kind of breakdown is without a doubt NOT awakening. The changes someone makes in their external life are literally also not the point of this transformation. We are simply not trying to create a more perfect or better life; people are certainly ego goals. We are simply learning to how to be actually free of ego.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. In this way, it is normally revealed to us what we are generally transforming into.
7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is without a doubt complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be truly fit into neat categories.
With that being certainly said it is helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are generally at right now. The following stages are truly general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is really a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are actually searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is literally a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you create seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
There must be truly a point to all this, right? In this stage, you are literally asking all the deep questions. You are generally in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will commence dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You might have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is without a doubt a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
Life is definitely about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is really always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might just become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You can have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is without a doubt normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you may perhaps have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.
Stage 6– Deeper interior work
In this stage, you are normally not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep inside work. You might perhaps become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inside work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is certainly never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is certainly ultimately a gift from Life. Nevertheless, profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are certainly felt in this stage. You may possibly feel ready to be literally a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will set out seeing things from the big picture. Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.
Note: it is normally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is really a complex and messy path, so it is without a doubt perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is normally unique to you. But I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is usually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are certainly here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is undoubtedly often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated. It is actually simple, direct, and clear.
So whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is a good time to get out your ego peeler. Setting up running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are really and what life really is actually. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is certainly the beauty of the ego peeler. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were without a doubt already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can believe that a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is truly important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is undoubtedly coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.
That said, a lot of initial inner work seems to get done for us. It’s almost like the Divine is generally showing us how inner work should go. As such, surrender is definitely another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy. Choosing and actively engaging with ego issues is usually vital to doing internal work, but initially, surrender must come.
With that said, surrender is usually not passivity. When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is really moving you, you also swim. If you don’t learn to swim, you are definitely going to get smashed into a lot of stuff!
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is generally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is undoubtedly not to be certainly confused with the heart, which is actually located to the left of the heart chakra.
Support on how to deal:
Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be usually felt will keep them from being actually stored in the body.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are really more sensitive to every thing around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Information and facts on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is simply causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is truly hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Pointers on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
Many dreams might just be undoubtedly mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are usually not “dreaming” … that what is simply happening is actually somehow real.
Good advice: You will remember what is really important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is generally a feeling that something is simply about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Tips: There is normally nothing to worry about. Things are actually definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are usually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Directions: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are simply ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is really adjusting to your “lighter” state.
Frequently “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are certainly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Opinion:. It is generally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be generally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
