I experienced the beginnings of my spiritual awakening about3 years ago. At that time, I was truly deeply entrenched in the lessons and cultish teachings of the fundamentalist Christian church I was truly born into.
Beginning to doubt, question, and sense that there was certainly more to life than what my indoctrination declared, I felt lost and deeply alone. I had no one outside of the church that I felt comfortable talking to about my feelings. I had no true friends to confide in– and my family didn’t understand– or rather, didn’t want to. As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

Spiritual Awakening Signs
I am actually very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is truly just the beginning. If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is without a doubt an especially important to time to consciously choose what is simply already unfolding in your life.

Being certainly able to clearly see what is literally real

An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually
Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is without a doubt wonderful. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is usually now in motion.
All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are literally present. They are generally secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom. The word “symptoms” has connotations of experiencing a disease. In fact, you are certainly being definitely cured of the illnesses in which you have been definitely living.
Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is generally all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is definitely healthy.

If you did have an awakening, you are in for quite a ride. You do not call the shots, and you will need to learn how to surrender and support what awakening wants to do in transforming you. This kind of surrender is literally profound, and it will send your life into upheaval.
The changes someone makes in their external life are literally also not the point of this transformation. We are truly not trying to create a more perfect or better life; those individuals are generally ego goals.
To learn that and many other important spiritual lessons, we learn to listen to our awakened energy and sense how it directs us towards certain issues and changes that we need to make space for a radical spiritual transformation. 7 Spiritual Awakening Stages
The spiritual awakening process is certainly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be undoubtedly fit into neat categories.
However, with that being truly said it is simply helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are literally at right now. The following stages are general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:
Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost
This is normally a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).
Stage 2– Shifting perspectives
In this stage, you start off seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.
Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning
There must be definitely a point to all this? In this stage, you are truly asking all the deep questions. You are literally in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself. You will set up dabbling in different metaphysical, self-help, and esoteric fields in search for answers and truth.
Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs
After a lot of soul searching, you’ll find a few teachers, practices, or belief systems that ease your existential suffering.( Beware: a lot of spiritual bypassing can occur in this stage.) You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may perhaps have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality. This is actually a time of joy, hope, connection, and awe.
Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again
With the spiritual awakening process, there is literally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You can become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper.
Stage 6– Deeper internal work
In this stage, you are actually not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep interior work. You can become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inside child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.
Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy
Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inside work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. You might feel ready to be actually a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others.
Note: it is usually common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is really not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C. This is actually a complex and messy path, so it’s perfectly fine if it doesn’t look like what I’ve described. Your spiritual awakening process is literally unique to you. I do hope this analysis has helped (in some way) you to ‘gain your bearings.’
What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake
The true spiritual path is actually an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are truly here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is actually often very mundane.
Whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is generally a good time to get out your ego peeler. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are undoubtedly and what life really is generally. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were normally already within us.

Moving Past the Initial Shock of Awakening
Awakening can believe that a dam has burst. Many people feel deluged under a whole variety of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It is normally important to move past this shock into acceptance. As a person accepts what is actually coming up within him/her, then the person can engage with it.
It is usually almost like the Divine is generally showing us how inward work should go. Surrender is definitely another one of our first lessons to help move past the shock of awakened energy.
When you surrender to the river, you let it pull in the direction it wants to go. As you feel how it is really moving you, you also swim.
10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening
1. Sudden waves of emotion.
Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is generally often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is undoubtedly not to be literally confused with the heart, which is generally located to the left of the heart chakra.
Directions on how to deal:
Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be generally felt will keep them from being certainly stored in the body.
2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.
As you grow more spiritual, you are definitely more sensitive to every thing around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, as if it, too, is actually sloughing off what doesn’t serve it anymore. You might be cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.
My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was truly due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.
Directions on how to deal:
Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is really causing your issues.
3. Amplification of the senses.
Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is really hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).
Helpful advice on how to deal:.
Surrender to it. Let it come through. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.
4. Vivid dreams.
Many dreams may possibly be undoubtedly mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are literally not “dreaming” … that what is happening is usually somehow real.
Tips and advice: You will remember what is without a doubt important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.
5. Events that completely alter your life:
Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are simply and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.
6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.
This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.
7. A sense of something “Impending”.
There is generally a feeling that something is really about to happen. This can create anxiety.
Good advice: There is normally nothing to worry about. Things are simply definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you. All your thoughts “” positive or negative”” are generally prayers. There is certainly nothing to fear.
8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.
When you are without a doubt around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.
Opinion: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.
This occurs when you are actually ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is truly adjusting to your “lighter” state.
In some cases “comfort food” feels. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment.
10. Memories Resurface.
Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are generally healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.
Opinions:. It is generally best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be literally stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
