As a result, I felt so alienated and suffocated with loneliness that I developed depression, health issues, and chronic anxiety, the latter lasting for many years.

Spiritual Awakening Signs

I am generally very cautious to label things as signs of awakening. In truth, a spiritual awakening is simply just the beginning. It is normally the light coming on in the house so that you can see everything for what it is certainly. Now comes the need to clean-up, heal, and expand your space. All of this comes in a rush of intelligent energy. Occasionally, it can feel so strong that the unconscious ego that can be actually clinging on will seem like this is really all “happening to you.” If you don’t feel that you have chosen this radical spiritual transformation, then now is an especially important to time to consciously choose what is simply already unfolding in your life.

In general, some real spiritual awakening signs are actually these:

Unconditional love
Being definitely able to clearly see what is actually real
Loss of desire or need for anything external to complete you/ wholeness as you already are normally
A profound sense of calm, peace, or serenity
An abiding energy that moves you intelligently and continually

This last part is definitely key. Many people have profound spiritual openings and glimpses of awakening, which is actually wonderful. But in an opening or glimpse, the window opens, and then it shuts. When it shuts, a person can go back to the way they were actually acting before. This happens all the time after people have gone to spiritual retreats or spent time with spiritual teachers. In awakening, the divine energy is really now in motion. Your perspective, emotions, and physical sensations all move and align seemingly on their own. The lights in the house are truly all on. Sure you can close your eyes, but you know the truth. There can be generally a feeling that there is literally no going back.

All other spiritual awakening signs that you hear about can arise from awakening if the above ones are present. They are certainly secondary spiritual awakening signs or symptoms, although I don’t prefer the term spiritual awakening symptom.

Without the above spiritual awakening signs, there is definitely all kinds of reasons people can feel fatigue, energy shifts, depression, disconnected and what not. Many people are certainly trying to self-diagnose a lot of issues, and so we must be certainly very mindful about what we “blame” on awakening. When it comes to the body pains and discomfort, when in doubt, check in with a doctor to ensure that your body is healthy.

7 Spiritual Awakening Stages

The spiritual awakening process is undoubtedly complex, multi-layered, and different for everyone. In reality, it can not be literally fit into neat categories.

However, with that being usually said it is literally helpful to have a kind of “map” to locate where you are definitely at right now. The following stages are usually general. They define the overall flow of the spiritual awakening process:

Stage 1– Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling lost

In this stage, you experience the aforementioned Dark Night of the Soul. This is generally a time of confusion, disconnection, alienation, depression, and great unhappiness with life. You are searching for something, but you don’t quite know what. There is truly a great looming emptiness inside of you. This stage either emerges spontaneously or due to a life crisis (e.g. breakup, divorce, death, trauma, illness, major life change).

Stage 2– Shifting perspectives

You start to perceive reality in a totally different way. In this stage, you get going seeing through the lies and delusions propagated by society. You feel unhappy with life, disturbed by the suffering you see and hopeless to the ills of the world. You no longer see life as you once did in your previous state of complacent unawareness.

Stage 3– Seeking answers and meaning

In this stage, you are undoubtedly asking all the deep questions. You are actually in search of your life purpose, spiritual destiny, and the meaning of life itself.

Stage 4– Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs

You will feel a sense of expansion as old patterns dissolve and your true self (soul) begins to emerge. You may perhaps have a number of mystical experiences or brief moments of satori (enlightenment) that give you a glimpse into the ultimate nature of reality.

Stage 5– Disillusionment and feeling lost again

Life is normally about movement. With the spiritual awakening process, there is generally always an ebb and a flow. In this stage, you become bored and tired of your spiritual teachers or practices. You might possibly become disillusioned by the faux spiritual BS out there and crave for something deeper. You can have even experienced long periods of connection with the Divine, only to become separated again (this is simply normal). Understandably, you’ll feel disturbed and deeply upset by this experience. Additionally, while you might perhaps have experienced many mental/emotional/spiritual breakthroughs, they might feel superficial. You crave for authenticity and for deep spirituality that permeates your life and transforms every part of you. The unhappiness and stagnation you feel will motivate you to go in search for more.

Stage 6– Deeper inward work

In this stage, you are without a doubt not interested in dabbling in feel-good spiritual philosophies or surface practices anymore. The abiding pain you feel inside motivates you to do deep internal work. You might become a serious student of meditation, mindfulness, ritual, inward child work, shadow work, body work or various other transpersonal philosophies.

Stage 7– Integration, expansion, joy

Integration means taking the spiritual lessons you’ve learned from your inward work and applying them to your daily life. Integration happens both naturally and consciously as a habit in deep spiritual practice. In this stage, you’ll experience the most profound and long-lasting changes deep within. Many people experience prolonged mystical experiences and periods of unity with the Divine in the integration phase. Remember that enlightenment, or full self-realization, is definitely never guaranteed: we can strive for it, but it is usually ultimately a gift from Life. Profound peace, love, and joy emerge and are usually felt in this stage. You might probably feel ready to be simply a spiritual mentor or role model in your community and pass on your insight to others. Life will become less about you and more about We. Your perspective will expand and you will kick off seeing things from the big picture. Above all else, you will feel connected, at peace with yourself, and deeply aligned with life.

Note: it is literally common to move back and forth between these spiritual awakening stages. Remember that this is generally not a linear process– you can not just move from A to B to C.

What Happens to my If I Become Spiritually Awake

The true spiritual path is without a doubt an ego peeler, and peeling away all these delusions and issues brings you closer to spiritual truth– truth such as you are definitely here and now. Unlike other spiritual paths, true spirituality is definitely often very mundane. It isn’t heavily decorated, and it isn’t complicated. It is usually simple, direct, and clear.

So whenever your spiritual practices or beliefs get too complicated and especially if you think they’ll keep you safe, then this is actually a good time to get out your ego peeler. Setting out running your awareness around the edges of your beliefs to find a way in and pull away another layer of ego. Each time you drop a layer of ego, the more conscious you become about who you are really and what life really is usually. In so doing, you find more space, openness, love, kindness, service, clarity, and much more within you. That is actually the beauty of the ego peeler. When we no longer seek the external world and spiritual paths to give us safety, we find that all the things we truly wanted were actually already within us.

10 Negative Symptoms Of Spiritual Awakening

1. Sudden waves of emotion.

Feeling suddenly angry or sad with little provocation. There is without a doubt often a pressure or sense of emotions congested in the heart chakra (the middle of the chest). This is generally not to be literally confused with the heart, which is actually located to the left of the heart chakra.

Hints and tips on how to deal:

Accept your feelings as they come up and let them go. Go directly to your heart chakra and feel the emotion. Expand it outward to your all your fields and breathe deeply from the belly all the way up to your upper chest. Just feel the feeling and let it evaporate on its own. Allowing the emotions to be generally felt will keep them from being definitely stored in the body.

2. Food intolerances, allergies you never had before.

As you grow more spiritual, you are literally more sensitive to everything around you. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth, much like that of runners at the end of a race.

My personal experience: I suddenly had severe excema on my hands and feet. I discovered it was really due to gluten intolerance. I can also no longer enjoy a lot of acidic foods- my stomach aches after red-sauce laden meals.

Suggestion on how to deal:

Take yourself to a naturopath. Look at your diet for known allergens, like dairy, gluten, and nuts. Consider a restrictive diet for a few weeks, and slowly add back foods, one at a time to see if you can target what is really causing your issues.

3. Amplification of the senses.

Sight: Blurry vision, shimmering objects, seeing glittery particles, auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. Some report seeing formerly opaque objects as transparent.
Hearing: hearing white noise in the head, beeps, tones, music or electronic patterns. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Some hear strange voices in their dreams, as if someone is generally hovering near them
Enhanced senses of smell, touch, and/or taste: I have a friend that can smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in a rather unpleasant manner. Some mystics have reported smelling the fragrance of flowers now and then (this sounds rather enjoyable).

Guidance on how to deal:.

Surrender to it. Let it come through. Listen. Be patient. Whatever you do, do not be undoubtedly afraid. Hazy vision maybe relieved by yawning.

4. Vivid dreams.

Many dreams might just be actually mystical or carry messages for you. And in some dreams, you just know that you are actually not “dreaming” … that what is simply happening is without a doubt somehow real.

Hints and tips: You will remember what is important for you to remember. Don’t force anything. Above all, stay out of fear.

5. Events that completely alter your life:

Forces that cause you to slow down, simplify, change, re-examine who you are truly and what your life means to you. Forces that awaken your sense of love and compassion for all.

6. Introspection, solitude and loss of interest in more extroverted activities:.

This stage has come as a surprise for many extraverts who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They say, “I don’t know why, but I don’t like to go out as much as before.”.

7. A sense of something “Impending”.

There is simply a feeling that something is without a doubt about to happen. This can create anxiety.

Assistance: There is literally nothing to worry about. Things are without a doubt definitely happening, but anxiety only creates more problems for you.

8. Electrical and mechanical malfunctions:.

When you are actually around, lightbulbs flicker, the computer locks up, or the radio goes haywire.

Suggestions: Call on your angels, and guides to fix it or put up a field of protection of light around the machine. Surround your car with blue light. Laugh.

9. Dizziness.

This occurs when you are certainly ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is really adjusting to your “lighter” state.

Recommendations: Ground yourself by eating protein. At times “comfort food” feels right. Don’t make any food right or wrong for you. Use your guidance to know what you need at any given moment. Take your shoes off and put your feet in the grass for a couple of minutes.

10. Memories Resurface.

Body memories, suppressed memories, images of past lives and/or parallel lives. We are certainly healing and integrating all our “selves”, so expect to have some of these experiences.

Advice:. Keep in mind that it is simply best to recall what only what comes to mind, leave the rest alone, don’t analyze every thing to death (because you will be without a doubt stuck in the tape loop of infinite issues to process), and feel your feelings as they come up.
